Visit of REAP Delegation to the United Kingdom
The Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) delegation, led by Malik Faisal Jahangir, Chairman REAP, undertook a productive visit to the United Kingdom aimed at strengthening Pakistan–UK trade relations and promoting Pakistani rice in the UK market.
During the visit, H.E. Tipu Usman, High Commissioner of Pakistan to the United Kingdom, warmly received and welcomed the REAP delegation. The meeting provided an important platform to discuss opportunities for further expanding Pakistan’s rice exports to the United Kingdom and enhancing commercial linkages between the two countries.
Chairman REAP expressed his sincere appreciation to H.E. High Commissioner for the valuable support, cooperation, and facilitation extended by the High Commission towards the promotion of Pakistan’s rice exports. He particularly acknowledged the High Commission’s continued efforts to facilitate the Pakistani business community and create avenues for enhanced trade and investment opportunities in the United Kingdom. As a gesture of appreciation, Chairman REAP presented REAP souvenir to H.E. Tipu Usman.
During the visit, the REAP delegation also held a series of productive and constructive meetings with leading rice buyers and importers across the United Kingdom. The engagements focused on exploring new business opportunities, strengthening commercial partnerships, increasing market access, and further enhancing the presence of Pakistani rice in the UK market.
The delegation further held a meeting with the Rice Association UK, during which both sides underscored the importance of strengthening institutional cooperation and establishing closer coordination between the two organizations. Discussions covered a broad range of areas, including promotion of bilateral rice trade, exchange of industry knowledge and market insights, identification of common challenges, and development of mutually beneficial avenues for long-term collaboration.
The visit reaffirmed REAP’s commitment to expanding Pakistan’s international rice markets and strengthening engagement with key stakeholders in the United Kingdom, while contributing to the broader objective of enhancing Pakistan–UK trade and economic relations.
