A delegation of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), led by Malik Faisal Jahangir, is visiting the United States of America from May 6 to May 17, 2026. The first phase of the visit is taking place in New York City, where the delegation is exploring opportunities to enhance Pakistan’s rice exports to the U.S. market. During the visit, the Consulate General of Pakistan New York hosted a networking event in honor of the REAP delegation to promote Pakistan’s rice exports in the United States. The event brought together key importers and distributors from New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. More than 25 prominent U.S.-based importers and distributors attended the event. The Pakistani delegation comprised Executive Committee members of REAP and leading rice exporters from across Pakistan. Aamer Ahmed Atozai highlighted Pakistan’s strong export potential in the rice sector and emphasized the importance of strengthening commercial linkages with U.S. partners. Meanwhile, Adnan Mahmood Awan outlined the objectives of the delegation’s visit, focusing on expanding market access, addressing trade barriers, and building long-term partnerships. Participants engaged in open and constructive discussions on market challenges, including pricing dynamics and compliance requirements. Members of the REAP delegation responded to queries and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining international standards and ensuring reliable supply chains. The event concluded with a reception dinner, offering further opportunities for networking and relationship building. This initiative reflects Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote its high-quality agricultural exports and deepen trade relations with the United States.
