16/01/2025 : Chairman REAP, Malik Faisal Jahangir, Chaudhry Samiullah Naeem and Mian Sabiur Rahman held meeting with Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mr. Attaullah Tarar. REAP Delegation briefed him about the recent problems being faced by the rice export sector and informed that due to these crises, the current exports will be badly affected and we are afraid that the desired target will be reduced due to delay and disruption of exports in the coming quarter. The delegation presented its proposals to maintain and increase the export of cash crop which strengthens Pakistan's economy with record exchange rates. The delegation said that the current crisis is temporary and as a result of the measures taken, rice exports will be streamlined. The Minister of Information appreciated the export of $ 4 Billion of rice and assured that a better solution will be found for this crisis and he will also convey the concerns and suggestions of the delegation to H.E. Prime Minister, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for a permanent solution to the problems faced by rice exporters. So that Pakistan, which is currently 4th largest rice exporting country in the world can develop and become the 2nd largest in the near future.
