09/05/2024: Today’s “Rice Technical Training Course” covered following topics: 1. Review of first day. 2. Quick run through defective grains terms & definitions. 3. Definitions and shapes of non basmati coarse / fine varieties (detailed). 4. Detailed discussion and practical on understanding of Chalky, Choba, Red-striped and under milled rice grains. (Identification and Judgment criteria) The training is being conducted by Ms. Yasmin Ismail, MC Member REAP and Syed Hamid Raza, (PMEX) Pakistan Mercantile Exchange, both of them having vast experience in Product Knowledge, Quality Control, Food Safety Audits, Collateral Management, ISO Standards and Rice Analysis. Practical of following were also done during the session for better understanding: 1. Detailed Analysis & identification of defective grains & brokens. (PSI / 7301/CODEX). 2. Analysis & identification of coarse and fine rice varieties.
