25/04/2024: Today, a meeting was held with Mr. Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, Secretary Agriculture Punjab. Mr. Haseeb Ali Khan SVC REAP showed his severe concerns on pesticide issues being faced by Rice Exporters. Key discussions revolved around ensuring the quality and safety of rice exports by implementing stringent regulations on pesticide usage, monitoring, and enforcement. Collaborative efforts were emphasized to establish transparent guidelines, promote sustainable agricultural practices, and enhance the credibility of Punjab's rice industry in the global market. The dialogue aimed at fostering a mutually beneficial partnership between the Government and exporters to uphold food safety standards while supporting the growth of the agricultural sector. Mr. Ali Hussam Asghar, Former Chairman REAP, Mr. Shahid Hussain Tarar and Mr. Adnan Sheikh also participated in the said meeting added their point of view.
